Qualifications

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of company facilities. This position performs routine cleaning, sanitation, and basic tasks to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe environment for employees, visitors, and operations.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Focus, communicate, encourage and contribute to Safety in all aspects of the job and all company meetings.
• Empty trash and recycling containers
• Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors
• Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment
• Replenish supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper
• Follow cleaning schedules and checklists
• Safely use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
• Support special cleaning projects or events as assigned
• Maintain a clean and organized supply/storage area

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):

• Attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Understanding of safety practices and proper chemical handling
• Strong organizational skills
• Reliability and strong work ethic

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques, equipment, and supplies
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Dependable with good attendance and time management skills

Working Conditions:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 25–50 pounds
• Ability to perform repetitive motions
• Ability to work in environments with dust, noise, and cleaning chemicals
• Indoor facility with occasional outdoor duties
• May involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment
• May require early mornings, evenings, weekends, or shift work based on operational needs
