Custodian — TS/SCI with CI Polygraph Required

Location: Chantilly, VA | Employment Type: Full-Time | Work Location: Onsite

ASRC Federal Field Services LLC, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking full-time Custodians to support a government customer in Chantilly, Virginia.

This position keeps offices, restrooms, common areas, and secure government workspaces clean and ready for daily use. Much of the work follows an established schedule. Other assignments involve responding to spills, addressing cleaning needs, or preparing spaces for meetings and inspections.

Dependability matters here. Employees must take care with their work, respect the spaces they enter, and follow the security procedures that come with working in a sensitive government environment.

Security Clearance Requirement

Applicants must possess and maintain an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph. This is a required qualification and must be maintained throughout employment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clean offices, conference rooms, hallways, break rooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors. Perform stripping, waxing, buffing, carpet cleaning, and other periodic floor care as assigned.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms and showers, including toilets, sinks, fixtures, mirrors, and surrounding surfaces. Replenish soap, paper products, and other supplies.
  • Dust and clean furniture, windowsills, doors, baseboards, and accessible equipment surfaces. Work carefully around government property without disturbing documents, equipment, or protected materials.
  • Clean interior glass and polish metal fixtures and trim as assigned.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers and take waste to designated collection areas, following facility disposal procedures.
  • Respond to spills and other cleaning requests promptly. Some assignments may involve deep cleaning or preparing an area for meetings, inspections, or visitors.
  • Operate custodial equipment and handle cleaning chemicals safely. Follow manufacturer instructions, Safety Data Sheets, and requirements for personal protective equipment.
  • Follow cleaning schedules and quality standards. Report maintenance needs, damaged property, supply shortages, safety hazards, or unusual conditions to a supervisor.

Security and Professional Responsibilities

Employees work in areas where access and information are controlled. Following security procedures is part of the job every day.

  • Comply with facility access restrictions, badging requirements, and procedures for classified or restricted areas.
  • Protect government information and property encountered during assigned work. Maintain confidentiality about workplace activities.
  • Complete required security, safety, and facility training.
  • Arrive on time, maintain dependable attendance, and work professionally with coworkers, supervisors, and customer personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a CI Polygraph, with the ability to maintain the clearance and required facility access throughout employment.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • High school diploma or GED, or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
  • Ability to follow instructions, meet cleaning standards, and work independently or with a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and promptly report concerns.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous custodial experience in a commercial, government, industrial, or institutional setting is preferred. Experience in secure government facilities or other controlled-access environments is especially helpful.

Familiarity with commercial floor-care equipment, cleaning chemicals, Safety Data Sheets, and personal protective equipment is also preferred.

Work Environment and Schedule

This position works onsite in secure government facilities. Schedules depend on the assigned shift and facility needs and may include evenings, overnight hours, weekends, holidays, or adjusted work hours.

We invest in the lives of our employees, both in and out of the workplace, by providing competitive pay and benefits packages. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.
