Summary

LSU Health New Orleans Division of Facility Services is seeking highly motivated applicants for the position of Custodian Supervisor A.

This is work supervising and assisting custodian 1s and 2s in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitary conditions and appearance of a specific assigned LSUHSC building.

Supplemental information

  • Supervise the cleaning of assigned building. Plan and give instructions
  • Deal with campus cleaning emergencies during normal work hours
  • Assist cleaning of assigned building
  • Conduct inspections of respective areas
  • Follow-up on employee's performance to insure peak productivity
  • Plan, give instruction on, assist with and inspect the completion of a) special set-up requests; b) providing manpower during events; c) clean up after events.
  • Personnel matters a) process payroll time sheets; b) process leave requests; c) complete annual performance reviews based strictly on expectations listed on the plans for the previous year; d) take part in the hiring process; e) conduct new employee evaluation, training and counseling throughout the probationary period; f) conduct re-training for established employees as needed
  • Manage work orders
  • Maintain building supplies inventory a) oversee the drawing of supplies by individual employees from building storage area; b) initiate requests for equipment or supplies issued by the Storeroom

Position-Specific Details:

Location: 2020 Gravier St. New Orleans LA 70112

Hours of Operation: 6:00 am -2:30 pm Monday - Friday

Compensation: Starting rate of pay is $14.03 per hour. There is also an additional $1 Longevity pay for hours worked only. Rate may be increased depending on applicants’ qualifications.

Appointment Type: Probationary Appointment

Pre-employment Drug testing, Physical and Criminal Background check are required.
