Job Description

Job Location: PROCTOR RECREATION CENTER - PEORIA, IL 61605
Position Type: Seasonal
Salary Range: $16.00 - $17.00 Hourly

Under the direct supervision of the Proctor General Manager and the Proctor Custodial and Grounds/Maintenance Foreman, the Custodian is responsible for:
In the absence of the Foreman, the appearance of the Center building, grounds, equipment and supervision of other assigned maintenance personnel.
All assigned facility maintenance and clean up.
All assigned janitorial equipment and supplies.
Assisting in requisitioning and inventorying all janitorial equipment and supplies.
Assisting in the performance of daily check lists and maintenance procedure items.
Recommending improved maintenance techniques and procedures based on experience.
Assisting in preparation and monitoring of maintenance supplies.
Following all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed.  Supporting all aspects of the Peoria Park District safety program.
Performing other duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation - High school diploma or equivalent desired.
Experience - One year experience in janitorial duties and procedures preferred.
Knowledge and Ability - Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work independently and efficiently.
Ability to maintain appropriate standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
Ability to operate standard mechanized cleaning equipment.
Ability to maintain awareness of supply needs.
Ability to prepare facility for meeting and activities in a timely fashion.
Ability to perform routine grounds keeping function as directed.
Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers.
