Job Summary:

The Custodian provides a clean and safe learning environment while maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness and efficiency.

Organizational Relationship:

The Custodian reports directly to the Custodial Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from high school, technical school, or comparable experience
  • Working knowledge of the methods, tools, mechanical equipment and techniques used in custodial work
  • Working knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions and fire and sanitation codes
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions in English

Salary and Benefits:

Salary established by the Board of Education and PSRP agreement.

Hourly rate of pay for 2026-27 is $22.53. Custodians work 8.0 hours per day (7.5 paid hours and 0.5 unpaid lunch). The work year includes 244 days plus 16 paid holidays for a total of 260 paid days (1,950 paid hours per year)

Work hours for this position are 2:30pm - 10:30pm.

The Board of Education will pay 100% of the premium cost of Employee Only HMO coverage and 70% of the premium for dependent coverage (Family, Employee + Spouse, Employee + Children). The Board of Education will pay 90% of Employee Only PPO Coverage.
