Job Description

This is a 6 month temporary position with the possibility of extension.

This is a night shift position that has a paid and competitive night shift premium. The shift is Monday to Thursday: 5:15 PM to 2:15 AM and Friday: 4:15 PM to 12:15 AM.

Key position functions include:

• Responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that office building and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner.
• Daily duties include: emptying waste baskets and disposing of trash; dusting and spot cleaning all furniture (desks, chairs, tables, countertops, phones); cleaning and polishing bright metals; cleaning and sanitizing water coolers; spot cleaning reception glass, including front doors and entrance, interior glass partitions and doors; check, change, and refill towel, soap, and toilet paper dispensers; maintain washrooms and floors.
• Perform weekly and monthly duties: vacuuming offices; washing waste baskets (in rotation).
• Responsible for shop floor duties: clean and polish water fountains; clean offices, change rooms, and lunch rooms.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following qualifications:

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum 3 years of related janitorial experience.
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 30 pounds as necessary.
• Self-motivated, able to prioritize and possess strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
