Custodian

Goodwill Columbus is looking for dependable Custodians to help keep our facilities clean, safe, and welcoming. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong work history, positive attitude, and excellent customer service skills. No custodial experience is required. We will provide training.

Pay, Schedule & Location

  • Pay: $14 to $15/hour
  • Schedule: Full-time and Part-Time

(40 hours/week, First & Second Shifts)/ Part-time (20 hours/week, Second Shift)

  • Location: Columbus, OH (Metro Area)

What You'll Do

  • Clean offices, hallways, entrances, break rooms, and common areas.
  • Empty trash and replace liners.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms.
  • Restock soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
  • Clean windows, doors, water fountains, and other surfaces.
  • Use cleaning equipment and supplies safely.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment for staff and visitors.
  • Complete other cleaning duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Reliable attendance and a stable work history.
  • Ability to work independently and stay organized.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow directions and safety procedures.
  • Prior custodial, housekeeping, or cleaning experience is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • No custodial experience required. Training provided.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, customers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage daily tasks.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for long periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and lift.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 10 pounds; occasional heavier lifting may be required.
  • Use cleaning equipment and tools safely.
  • Work in different indoor environments and around cleaning products.
