Job Description

St. Leo the Great and St. Vincent de Paul seek candidates for a part-time Custodian. The part-time Custodian works 15-18 hours per week to perform routine cleaning and maintenance of parish buildings and property. This position reports directly to the Facilities Manager and works collaboratively with other facilities staff under the pastor. Must have availability to respond to on-call emergencies.

Essential Functions

  • Helps ensure parish buildings and grounds are clean and orderly.
  • Assists Facilities Superintendent in maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and waxes floors, washes walls and windows, removes dust and debris as needed.
  • Selects equipment and materials for cleaning, replenishes supplies in buildings as needed.
  • Removes trash from inside the buildings and from the grounds.
  • Performs minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing filters and bulbs.

Position Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid Maryland driver's license with no more than 3 points.
  • Previous cleaning/maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety standards for use of cleaning equipment and products preferred.

Pay Range: $15.00 - $17.00, Hourly
