Cleans and maintains building and grounds areas. Cleans classrooms, cafeteria, halls, restrooms, locker rooms, sidewalks and other areas. Performs minor repair and maintenance work. Sets up for special events. Performs other duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space.
Uses floor cleaning machine and other equipment.
Empties trash and garbage containers.
Maintains building, occasionally performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities. Changes light bulbs and replaces air conditioner filters.
Notifies supervisor concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
Properly uses chemicals necessary to maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions in assigned areas.
Cleans debris from sidewalk.
Keep custodial closets clean and orderly.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to pass a background check
Must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card with IVP# prior to hiring.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of supervisors or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
