REAL finds itself in the enviable position of managing one of the most interesting and versatile connected spaces in North America with an opportunity to impact the lives of millions by creating life-long memories and delivering exceptional experiences.

As a custodian, you will have the responsibility of maintaining the cleanliness of all facilities at REAL. You will support all facilities by ensuring they are cleaned by REAL’s standards to provide a healthy and safe environment for all guests. This role will be required to follow cleaning processes and procedures outlined for each area or facility.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Maintain the interior and exterior of the buildings and their surrounding grounds.
  • Keeps buildings and grounds in clean and orderly condition.
  • Performs heavy cleaning duties including, but not limited to cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.
  • Ensures janitorial rooms are clean and stocked at the end of each shift.
  • Performs other duties on an as and when required basis.

*This is a casual position and shifts will be scheduled according to the needs of the business. There are no guaranteed hours*

Wage $15.80 - $17.16

Requirements

WHAT IT TAKES

  • Grade twelve (12) education is preferred.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS program and Occupational Health and Safety Standards preferred.
  • Knowledge/previous experience working with chemicals and janitorial machinery preferred.
  • Must be able to follow directions and work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.
  • Strong time-management skills and a proven track record of delivering quality results, with attention to details.
  • The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs throughout their shift. May lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to remain standing and walk for their entire shift.
  • May work odd or long hours at a time to complete operational requirements, projects or to participate in or coordinate evening and off-hour activities.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
  • Note that this position is an in-scope position under the RWDSU Collective Agreement.
