
The City of Johnson City, Tennessee is accepting online applications for a Custodian in the Building Services department. The employee performs responsible unskilled building cleaning tasks; does related work as required. This is repetitive manual work requiring efficient performance of simple building cleaning and maintenance duties. A custodian works under general supervision on routine recurring assignments, receiving specific instructions on each new or unusual assignment. The work is reviewed by inspection.
Essential Functions of Position:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Some working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment, and ability to use them economically and efficiently; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; and thoroughness.
Acceptable Experience and Training: Completion of high school or GED and some building cleaning experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Pre-employment physical, drug screening and background check required.
