Job Description

We are seeking a qualified individual with cleaning experience preferred. Reporting directly to the supervisor or the Account Manager-Janitorial, the Custodian plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of various facilities, such as schools, offices, medical buildings, and other public or private buildings. Their primary responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, dusting surfaces, sanitizing restrooms to ensure a hygienic environment, and pressure wash areas. Custodians are also tasked with emptying recycling bins/trash receptacles, restocking supplies, and may perform minor repairs or maintenance tasks as needed based on assigned work site. They may be required to set up or break down furniture for events and ensure that all areas are secure after cleaning. A successful custodian should possess attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team, contributing to the overall upkeep and functionality of the building.

-Employment Job Type: Full-time

-Schedule: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 12:00PM to 8:30PM

-Number of Hours: 40-hour work week.

-Hourly Pay Rate: $17.50

-Key Responsibilities:

Ensure common areas of the building are pristine by removing debris from parking areas, landscaped zones, and sidewalks.

Maintain cleanliness by emptying and sanitizing waste receptacles and cigarette butt containers, and replacing liners daily.

Keep sidewalks spotless, monitor and tidy trash areas, and use tools like blowers to keep parking spaces free of leaves and debris.

Clean mechanical rooms and ceramic floors, ensuring they're swept and mopped to perfection.

Restrooms cleaning: Disinfect sinks, toilet bowls, and urinals, while polishing mirrors and metal surfaces to a shine.

Restock supplies as needed

Report maintenance issues.

Pressure wash to refresh the property as needed

Keep the property safe and graffiti-free, while maintaining clean planters, landscape areas, and drinking fountains.

Scrub seating surfaces, keep directories and displays spotless, and ensure common areas like walls and benches are immaculate. Remove stains and gum will leave a lasting impression on visitors.

-Skills and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Must pass prescreen check.

Previous custodian or cleaning experience preferred.

Use of a pressure wash and a leaf blower is a plus.

Willingness to train.

Valid Hawaii Driver's License preferred.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards.

Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.

Good communication in English and teamwork skills.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.

Capable of performing tasks in any type of weather.

Physically capable of carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling a minimum of 25 pounds to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and performing tasks such as stretching, kneeling, bending, crawling, climbing and pressing.
