Position Information

The Custodian, under supervision, provides daily, general cleaning services to the Weslaco AgriLife Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors. Dust furniture and counters, clean windows

  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, breakrooms and shared spaces. Restock necessary supplies (soap, paper towels, etc.)

  • Assist with setup of tables and chairs for meetings or events.

  • Trash removal from offices, kitchens, restrooms and public/common areas daily

  • Replenishes supplies, cleans/polishes metal hardware, shampoos carpet, moves furniture, and mixes cleaning chemicals.

  • Repairs minor damages on equipment and structures. Reports major damage on equipment.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Salary: Compensation for this position is commensurate based on the selected candidate’s qualifications. This is an hourly paid position.
