An energetic and highly motivated experienced, seasoned individual as a Custodian on mid shift at our facilities. Needs maintain two facilities at a medical cleanliness level. Must be detail-oriented, flexible, and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises. The Custodian will be responsible for Monitoring and cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, production, and public areas. Must take pride in making a difference.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

  • Clean floors, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, or scrubbing.
  • Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders.
  • Gather and empty trash.
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
  • Clean windows, and mirrors, using soapy water, other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees as approved by Supervisor.
  • Clean and disinfect water fountains and water coolers.
  • Dust furniture, fixtures, window ledges, cubicles, bookcases, tables, file cabinets, blinds, offices, etc. on rotating basis.
  • Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
  • Remove fingerprints and dirt from all painted surfaces – light switches, entrance, door frames, walls, doors, etc.
  • Inspect and clean high lighting and ducts.
  • Clean and disinfect service sinks.
  • Clean bathrooms thoroughly, scour all basins, bowls and urinals, stall walls and doors, mirrors, etc. as well as walls and doors.
  • Fill soap, paper towel, toilet seat covers and tissue.
  • Monitor bathrooms, break room, public areas throughout the day for issues and address as needed.
  • Clean out Refrigerator and microwaves weekly.
  • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
  • Notify supervisor concerning the need for repairs to building or operating systems as discovered.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning as well as maintain orderly storage of supplies and equipment.
  • Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, etc. to prepare facilities for events such as banquets, training sessions and meetings as requested.
  • Manage routine upkeep of exterior entrances, parking lot
  • Responds to urgent situations, such as spills, that require quick action.
  • Other duties as needed – may assist maintenance with small projects, painting, moving, etc.
  • Regular, reliable on-site attendance is required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be adaptable as well as comfortable in a dynamic work environment with quickly changing priorities.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be knowledgeable with all janitorial equipment
  • Experience in stripping, waxing and polishing floors
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision/take direction well
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 30 pounds as necessary

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years custodial experience
  • OSHA training a plus
  • Experience in manufacturing environment is a plus.
