Responsibilities

Mission Linen Supply is seeking a Custodians. The Custodian maintains all areas needing housekeeping throughout the plant and offices, as well as the outside parking lots, loading/unloading areas and lawns.

The Custodian pay is $16.50 an hour. The starting pay is based on education, experience, other qualifications, and location of assignment.

Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sweep, mop, hot wash, vacuum floors and periodically wax floors.
  • Wash walls and inside windows by using water, cleaning solutions, sponge and cloth.
  • Clean offices, move furniture, vacuum, gather and dispose of trash, clean lighting fixtures, window tops and ledges using rags, ladders and other housekeeping equipment.
  • Clean overhead areas such as pipes and machinery with compressed air hoses or cloths.
  • Pick up litter, sweep and perform other general grounds keeping duties around the plant property, parking lot, lawns and walkways.
  • Assemble cleaning supplies and equipment and transport them to the designated cleaning area.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
