Location: Ithaca, NY
Position: Full-time, benefits-eligible
Shift: Tuesday-Saturday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Rate: $25.44 per hour
What You’ll Do: You’ll report to the Passenger Amenities Supervisor and help maintain all TCAT facilities and bus shelters, keeping them stocked and spotless. From freshening up workspaces and arranging furniture for meetings to sanitizing rest areas and responding to emergency cleanups… you’ll be a key part of keeping our operations looking shiny and running smoothly!

Schedule:
Typically Tuesday-Saturday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM with a 30-minute meal break. Some flexibility and/or occasional overtime may be necessary based on business needs.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 1 year of demonstrated custodial experience
- Ability to work independently and follow a set schedule
- Valid driver’s license (you’ll travel between facilities)
- Comfortable using cleaning tools and handling physical tasks (lifting 100 lbs, climbing ladders, etc.)

Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Ability to operate tools and equipment for the purpose of cleaning
- Ability to perform general maintenance and custodial duties in buildings
- Minimum of one year experience in custodial services
- Must possess a valid drivers license and have the ability to travel between facilities
- Knowledge of custodial products and application procedures to insure employee safety
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationship with co-workers, supervisors and subcontractors
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing and ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to exercise good judgment with respect to repairs and equipment safety
Working Conditions:
- Contact with cleaning fluids, toxic fumes and solvents.
- Noise level is moderate to moderately loud due to running of cleaning equipment.
- May work variable shifts.
- Work is performed inside/outside in all types of weather conditions.
- Occasional overtime may be required as approved by management.
Physical Demands:
- Employee may be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 100 pounds.
- Work requires the ability to reach, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch and climb ladders on a regular basis in the performance of custodial work.
- May require work at heights or in confined spaces and locations that are difficult to access.
- Required to use hands, fingers and arms to reach, handle or operate objects, tools, or equipment.
- Stands and walks for long periods of time in the performance of duties.
- Ability to receive directions and interact with staff and management.
- Specific vision abilities required to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
