Custodian – 2nd Shift

Full-Time | On-Site

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:15 PM–1:45 AM

Pay Rate: $18.00–$20.00/hour

Location: Rochester, NY 14624

Position Overview

ProAmpac is seeking a dependable Custodian to support the cleanliness, safety, and day-to-day upkeep of our Rochester manufacturing facility. This full-time, second-shift position offers a four-day workweek, Monday through Thursday.

The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized workplace, works well independently, and can effectively manage cleaning priorities throughout the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, offices, conference rooms, common areas, and designated production areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and clean floors and surfaces throughout assigned areas.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
• Clean and maintain breakroom areas, including tables, chairs, floors, sinks, coffee areas, and refrigerators.
• Maintain cleanliness of lobby areas and floors leading into controlled manufacturing environments.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need to be replenished or cleaning equipment requires maintenance.
• Maintain the facility recycling program throughout manufacturing and warehouse areas.
• Assist with special cleaning projects, facility needs, and event setup as assigned.
• Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
• Follow all facility safety, sanitation, housekeeping, and PPE requirements.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or industrial cleaning experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage assigned cleaning priorities.
• Ability to safely use standard cleaning products, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
• Ability to consistently work the scheduled Monday–Thursday, 3:15 PM–1:45 AM shift.

Work Environment

This position works throughout office, common, warehouse, and manufacturing areas. The employee may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, moving equipment, elevated noise levels, and varying temperatures. Required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety footwear and eye protection, must be worn in designated areas.

Employees are expected to follow all facility safety, sanitation, and PPE requirements.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and use hands to handle cleaning tools and equipment. The employee must be able to move throughout office, warehouse, and manufacturing areas and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
