Job Description

1st Shift - $19.50/hr

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

The Custodian will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of the building and grounds and will assist in maintenance activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This list is not comprehensive but meant to represent the most common or important duties of the position. Other duties are required and/or assigned:

  • Maintain restrooms in by cleaning floors, toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, countertops, trash removal, restocking paper towels and toilet paper
  • Maintain breakroom and hallways by sweeping, mopping or scrubbing floors, cleaning sinks, countertops, microwave, tables, chairs, etc.
  • Make recommendations regarding preventive maintenance schedules and records
  • Provide recommendations for improving current systems and schedules
  • Assist with production floor cleaning responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain the production area as needed
  • Shovel snow from sidewalks and patios as needed
  • Run errands as needed

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Good attention to detail. Prior cleaning, janitorial, custodial, day porter, or maintenance experience preferred.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures and manuals

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Maintains a valid Driver's License.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply concepts of basic math.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Mental: Must be able to effectively communicate with others; complete and understand analysis of numbers; read, analyze and interpret written materials; compliance with company policies; respond appropriately to feedback to make improvements; maintain positive working relationships; troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Physical: Must be able to hear and verbally communicate. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., sit, stand, and walk for hours at a time. Moderate noise level and moderate exposure to physical risk. Use of isopropyl alcohol, mineral spirits, industrial cleaners and solvents. Must be able to climb a 9' ladder.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Ability to establish priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and facilitate teamwork. Intermediate mechanical and tool knowledge.

Equipment Used Including but not limited to the following: wet and dry mops, automatic floor scrubber, brooms, squeegees, ladders, vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners

Special/ Additional Requirements Persons in this position may be required to pass a drug, alcohol, and/or criminal background check.
