Examples of duties

This role focuses on providing custodial support for the Clinton County Maintenance Office and surrounding grounds. You will help maintain clean facilities and safe outdoor areas that support daily operations. As a seasonal Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Cleaning Tasks: Perform routine cleaning, waxing, dusting, and polishing of floors, windows, furniture, and fixtures
  • Restroom Care: Clean restrooms and replace necessary supplies
  • Outdoor Maintenance: Shovel snow, sweep walkways, mow grass, and maintain lawn areas
  • Waste Disposal: Dispose of paper and other building waste in the correct manner
  • Minor Repairs: Perform small plumbing, electrical, and building repairs as needed
  • Team Communication: Coordinate daily tasks with supervisors and coworkers while maintaining a courteous attitude toward the public

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Seasonal full-time employment from October 2026 to March 2027.
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Work hours will vary as this position follows an irregular and rotating schedule.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
