Examples of duties

This position focuses on maintaining clean, safe, and comfortable areas throughout the hospital to support patients, staff, and visitors. You will complete assigned housekeeping tasks under direct guidance and close supervision. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Surface Cleaning: Clean and wipe fixtures, furnishings, and surfaces to support a sanitary environment
• Floor Care: Sweep, wash, and maintain indoor and outdoor walkways, ramps, and entrance areas
• Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and clean housekeeping equipment to ensure safe and effective operation
• Supply Management: Maintain housekeeping closets by organizing equipment, labeling containers, and monitoring supplies
• Laundry Assistance: Assist with pick-up and delivery of laundry items throughout the institution on assigned days
• Outdoor Upkeep: Perform snow and ice removal to maintain safe walking areas

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with rotating weekends and a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
• Overtime: As needed
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
