Examples of duties

This position supports transportation maintenance operations by providing cleaning, upkeep, and care for Department facilities and grounds. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:

• General Cleaning: Perform non specialized cleaning of lavatories, offices, garages, and meeting spaces
• Building Upkeep: Carry out tasks such as waste collection, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, washing windows, and floor care
• Grounds Maintenance: Operate small tools and equipment to mow grass, trim vegetation, and maintain planted areas
• Seasonal Tasks: Clear snow and ice from walkways, remove leaves, and address minor storm damage
• Basic Repairs: Replace light bulbs and complete simple repairs or report maintenance needs to supervisors
• Documentation Duties: Complete required forms and maintain accurate records of purchases, invoices, and packing slips

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,010 (before taxes).
