Preble Street’s Facilities staff contribute to our agency mission and help to create welcoming, safe spaces for clients by keeping program and agency spaces clean, orderly, and in good repair. We’re currently seeking an As-Needed Custodial Technician to work as part of the Facilities team.

Custodial Technicians help keep our program and office spaces clean and safe by performing daily, routine cleaning of bathrooms, floors, windows, and other surfaces; removing trash; restocking cleaning supplies; and performing deeper cleaning, as needed. These tasks require extended periods of standing and walking, with frequent bending, reaching, and pushing and pulling of cleaning equipment. Heavy lifting, working with cleaning chemicals, and going up and down stairs are necessary to perform the regular Custodial Technician job duties.



Qualifications

In addition to having a basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and of safe work practices, candidates must have consistent, reliable attendance at work and be available and able to work weekends and early mornings. Candidates should also have an understanding of issues related to homelessness and poverty, awareness of low-barrier services, and the ability to respectfully interact and maintain boundaries with a diverse population

Compensation

Custodial Technician As-Needed position has an hourly wage of $20.99 and work a maximum of 28 hours per week.
