Custodial Supervisor

Location: Creek Valley Elementary School | Status: Exempt | Schedule: 40 Hours/Week (M�F), 12 months position

Position Summary:

The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for assisting in providing leadership and supervision to custodial employees, reporting district energy use, managing health and safety, and assisting the Director of Buildings and Grounds as needed to ensure the efficient functioning and operation of district facilities and that a safe, clean and attractive environment exists for students, employees and the community.

Education / Experience Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education emphasizing on Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Certified Safety Professional or equivalent preparation related to the responsibilities of the position.
  • At least five years of experience in a related area.
  • Minnesota Chief "C" boilers license.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws (e.g. health and safety, OSHA, alternative facilities, hazardous materials).
  • Knowledge of energy conservation methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply management principles and techniques.
  • Evidence of technological proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently and delegate work appropriately.
  • Excellent organization, time management, financial and technical skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with employees, visitors, and outside providers.
  • Ability to research and gather information from a variety of sources.
  • Sufficient writing and verbal skills to justify recommendations, create reports, and convey messages clearly.
  • Ability to compute numbers and formulas to estimate and maintaining a budget.
  • Ability to operate district vehicles, bobcat, and lawn equipment.
  • Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with state and federal laws.
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow safety precautions and use protective gear.
  • Ability to follow laws and district policies.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills, and leadership skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary for this position ranges from $65,321 to $76,674, depending on experience and qualifications. New hires will typically start at the entry-level rate within the salary range, while candidates with relevant experience may be placed at a higher starting rate, up to the maximum of the salary range. Salary decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis, considering the individual's experience and the district's budget.

In addition, employees can participate in the 403(b) retirement program, with eligibility for a district match based on the terms and conditions outlined in the employee work agreement. Eligible employees also receive paid time off in accordance with the provisions outlined in the employee work agreement.
