Permanent

Grade 6 - £54,495- £64,811

Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review

Working 36.5 hours per week

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in delivering transformational regeneration and growth projects across East Birmingham, Knowledge Quarter, Enterprise Zone and the Curzon and HS2 growth corridor.

As Development Manager – Curzon Programme, you will lead the development and delivery of strategically important regeneration programmes that support Birmingham’s wider Growth Strategy and Investment Plan. Working alongside consultants, developers, partners and internal stakeholders, you will help shape and deliver complex development projects that drive investment, regeneration and long-term economic growth across the city.

You will combine strong programme management capability with technical expertise in planning, regeneration and development delivery, ensuring projects are delivered effectively, sustainably and in line with the Council’s strategic priorities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the delivery of major regeneration and development projects linked to East Birmingham, Knowledge Quarter and Enterprise Zone and the Curzon/HS2 growth programme
  • Manage complex capital projects and programmes, ensuring delivery against milestones, budgets and governance requirements
  • Work collaboratively with consultants, developers, government bodies and regional partners to progress strategic regeneration initiatives
  • Develop and manage feasibility studies, options appraisals, business cases and funding bids to support investment decisions
  • Provide specialist planning and development expertise to support programme delivery and strategic decision making
  • Prepare reports, presentations and briefing papers for senior officers, elected members and governance boards
  • Support the delivery of externally funded regeneration and investment programmes, including regional and national funding initiatives

About You

  • Significant experience managing complex regeneration, development or infrastructure projects within a large and multi-stakeholder environment
  • Strong understanding of planning, regeneration, development and property-related processes
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams and managing external consultants and delivery partners
  • Skilled in programme governance, business case development, risk management and project reporting
  • Experience working within politically sensitive environments and engaging with senior stakeholders and elected members
  • Strong commercial awareness, including knowledge of funding models, procurement and development appraisals
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience, with membership of a relevant professional body desirable (RTPI, RICS, RIBA, APM or similar)
