Volunteers typically live independently in Pristina district or other urban centers with access to cafés, markets, cultural events, and public transportation. Housing is modest and may experience occasional power outages or heating challenges in winter. Most Volunteers will live in an apartment, but some may live in small houses. The expected commute will most likely be between 20–40 minutes by bus, taxi, bike, or on foot.

Expand your education experience by developing university syllabi and academic programs in a new country.

Teach engaging university-level English language, literature, or social science courses.
Develop syllabi, course materials, reading lists, and assessment methods.
Facilitate workshops and provide technical guidance for faculty and students.
Support research initiatives and assist in planning literature- and social science-based studies.
Strengthen academic program curricula and institutional quality assurance systems.
Prepare and improve university self-evaluation reports.
Develop pre-university environmental education resources for MESTI.
You may also work on additional projects that meet the community’s interests and priorities, such as leading academic writing clubs or student research circles.
After two-week orientation on topics such as health and safety, you will move to an urban community where you will collaborate with the Ministry of Education or a university to assess the curriculum development needs and develop a work plan in line with their established goals.
Peace Corps/Kosovo will equip you with Albanian language resources and you may work with a tutor who can help you build basic language skills to connect with the community.
Only heterosexual couples can be accepted for this program.
Cohabitating couples are highly encouraged to present themselves as married throughout service due to cultural expectations.
Couples will live together during training but may separate occasionally for field-based activities.
Each person must apply separately and qualify for a position in a different sector than their partner.
