As a Vice President in Currencies Emerging Market Operations team, you oversee the end-to-end trade lifecycle for a diverse range of products, including foreign exchange, rates derivatives, options, fixed income, and money markets. You ensure regulatory compliance, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive process improvements. You play a critical role in supporting business growth and maintaining high standards of control and efficiency. This role will report directly to the Indian Branch Head of Market Operations to drive the operational efficiency, control, and regulatory compliance agenda, or any other statement which could differentiate the role of existing member would be helpful.

Job responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end trade lifecycle for foreign exchange, rates derivatives, options, fixed income, and money markets
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry guidelines, including The Clearing Corporation of India Limited (CCIL) and The Foreign Exchange Dealers Association of India (FEDAI) requirements
  • Manage settlement, confirmation, and reconciliation processes, including nostro and wash accounts
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, goods and services tax computation, and monitor prudential and regulatory limits
  • Manage corporate client regulatory documentation and maintain awareness of regulatory reporting impacts
  • Collaborate with external clients and internal partners, including business, finance, compliance, legal, and audit teams
  • Drive automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls
  • Lead and develop a high-performing operations team
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and articulate complex matters clearly
  • Foster a culture of partnership, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Support business expansion and adapt to evolving regulatory requirements

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
  • At least 15 years of relevant work experience in Banking Operations related roles
  • Strong knowledge of the end-to-end trade lifecycle for foreign exchange, rates derivatives, options, fixed income, and money markets
  • Experience with The Clearing Corporation of India Limited (CCIL) reporting, settlement, confirmation, and reconciliations
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory and industry guidelines, including The Foreign Exchange Dealers Association of India (FEDAI)
  • Experience with goods and services tax computation and regulatory documentation
  • Proven stakeholder management skills with external clients and internal partners
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solution-oriented approach with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Automation mindset to drive efficiency and enhance controls
  • Strong people management and partnership skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Qualified chartered accountant and/or Master of Business Administration (MBA) will be beneficial
  • Prior experience with large-scale process improvements or automation projects
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a dynamic, growth-focused environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing regulatory and market conditions
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and influencing outcomes
