Undergraduate students will be paid at the lower rate; while graduate students will be paid at the higher rate.

Nature of work:
The Research Assistant will contribute to a research project examining access to justice for racialized students within human rights, complaint, and appeal processes at selected Ontario universities. Duties will include conducting legal and scholarly research; identifying and analyzing relevant human rights tribunal and court decisions; reviewing university policies and institutional documents; organizing and coding research materials; contributing to comparative analysis; and assisting with the preparation of research reports, conference materials, and scholarly publications. The RA will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and participate in regular research meetings and training.
This posting is for two RA positions- one JD student and one LLM/PhD student.
Candidates should have strong legal research and writing skills.
Demonstrated interest in human rights, equality/anti-discrimination law, administrative law, access to justice, or higher education.
Ability to conduct independent legal research using legal databases and publicly available sources.
Strong organizational and analytical skills and demonstrated ability to meet research deadlines.
This project will continue over several semesters. That said, you must also apply for the fall 2026 semester (JR39757) and the summer 2027 semester (JR39870) hiring processes if you wish to participate in this project.
