About Us
The mission of Equitas Academy Charter Schools is to prepares students for college, careers, and life pursuits, and inspires them to be champions of equity. Equitas Academy currently serve over 2,000 students in four elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. Equitas Academy is based in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The primary role of the School Culture Coordinator is to support the Principal and school team with student and parent communications, student culture and restorative practices, and student safety and health.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate restorative practice systems and support and communicate with staff on student behavior issues
  • Sustain and monitor a safe, orderly, and joyful culture of high academic and behavioral standards
  • Supervise students during lunch, nutrition and passing periods
  • Communicate with families on a regular and consistent basis
  • Administer medications to students as needed
  • Assist in the development of structures and systems to assist in building consistency within the student culture
  • Provide the necessary support to faculty so that they can help administer the school’s policies
  • Act as lead for student referrals, student health, and injuries
  • Help communicate and reset students having difficulty with behavior in the classroom
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Principal or Assistant Principal

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous experience working with high school students
  • A strong belief that all students can succeed
  • Bilingual Spanish speaker required
  • BA degree strongly preferred, AA required
  • CPR Certification required within 60 days of hire
Salary and benefits
This is a full-time, hourly position with benefits. Salary starting at $21/hour

Equitas Academy Charter School was founded in 2009. We are a network of free public schools for families who believe their children deserve a high-quality education and challenging school experience. Our school model offers credentialed, passionate, and dedicated teachers and staff who are experts in their field. We currently serve over 1,000 students in Kinder-8th grade in two Elementary Schools and one Middle School and will open our second Middle School in August 2017.
