About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Cultural Heritage Advisor to join our External Relations and Sustainability team, playing a key role in protecting and managing cultural heritage values across our Western Australian operations.
In this role, you will contribute to strengthening our organisation’s social performance by delivering cultural heritage survey programs, managing identified heritage values, and building respectful, collaborative relationships with Traditional Owners and internal stakeholders.
Key purpose
Identify cultural heritage survey and monitoring requirements and develop appropriate scopes of work for delivery.
Coordinate and support the scheduling and execution of cultural heritage surveys, monitoring, and other field-based activities.
Contribute to statutory approval applications under relevant heritage legislation where impacts cannot be avoided.
Provide input into creating the cultural heritage management framework, policy and procedures to facilitate cultural heritage management.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Traditional Owners, consultants and stakeholders, fostering trust and respectful engagement.
Provide technical support on heritage matters, including reviewing survey outputs, supporting approvals and studies and promoting safe field practices aligned with organisational standards.

What you can bring to the role
Tertiary qualifications in either archaeology, anthropology, or cultural heritage management with previous experience in a related field.
Demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal people in a sensitive, respectful, and culturally appropriate manner.
Knowledge and understanding of cultural heritage legislation in Western Australia and relevant industry standards and best practices.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data.
Sound working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) skilled in creating maps and interrogating data.
An ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and commitment to ethical business practices and corporate social responsibility.
A current Australian C-Class Driver’s Licence to travel to the Huntly and Willowdale mines to support with field work as required.
