About the role

This position delivers high-quality case management and capacity-building initiatives to improve the wellbeing, safety and development of children and young people (0–18 years) in grandcarer households. Working with both new and existing Grandcarers, the role provides tailored, culturally responsive support to families, particularly those experiencing complex circumstances.

About you

You are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, with a strong connection to community and a deep commitment to supporting the wellbeing of children, young people, and families, particularly those raised by grandparents. You bring either a relevant tertiary qualification or substantial experience in community services, and you’re passionate about working in a culturally safe, child-focused environment.

You are highly organised, an excellent communicator, and a natural relationship-builder, with the ability to engage respectfully with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families across regional areas. Your understanding of child development, family dynamics, and the challenges faced by Grandcarers informs your ability to deliver compassionate and effective case management support.

With a strong foundation in administrative processes, computer literacy, and workplace safety, you are also familiar with the National Child Safe Principles. You are confident in working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, and you have the cultural knowledge and lived experience to make a meaningful impact.

Your problem-solving skills, ability to manage competing priorities, and commitment to building community partnerships make you an ideal candidate for this role.
