THE POSITION

Be part of our farewell season at the Scotiabank Saddledome and help create memorable food and hospitality experiences as we celebrate this iconic chapter.

We’re looking for passionate culinary team members at all levels, from entry-level cooks to experienced chefs. If you take pride in creating great food, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want you on our team.

As a Line Cook (1st, 2nd, or 3rd Cook), you will assist with food preparation and cooking operations for restaurants, suites, catering, banquets, and special events. Working as part of a collaborative culinary team, you will help maintain high standards of food quality, safety, sanitation, and guest service while contributing to exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Prepare and cook hot and cold food items, including soups, salads, sauces, sandwiches, and plated meals.
  • Assist with food preparation for restaurants, suites, catering functions, banquets, and special events.
  • Ensure proper food storage, labeling, handling, and inventory control.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Assist at buffet, carving, and action stations as required.
  • Communicate effectively with chefs, supervisors, and fellow kitchen team members.
  • Support all areas of kitchen operations as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment;
  • Actively participate in safety programs and follow polices;
  • Other duties as assigned.

THE INDIVIDUAL

The ideal candidate will have the following background:

  • Previous experience as a cook in a restaurant, hotel, banquet, catering, or hospitality environment.
  • 1st Cook: 5+ years preferred.
  • 2nd Cook: 3+ years preferred.
  • 3rd Cook: Entry-level culinary experience considered.
  • Strong understanding of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Formal culinary training, Red Seal certification, and/or high school diploma are considered assets.
  • Valid Alberta Basic Food Safety Certification;
