Culinary Excellence Lead – Project, Change Leadership

Brisbane based | regular site travel

Full time | 2 year contract

Civeo is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Culinary Lead to join our Kitchen Management System (KMS) Project on a two-year fixed term contract. Based in Brisbane, this role will play a critical part in the delivery, rollout, adoption and continuous improvement of Civeo's Kitchen Management System as it progresses from pilot implementation to broader deployment across our operational sites.

This unique role combines culinary expertise, operational excellence and change leadership to support the successful implementation of digital kitchen processes including recipe and menu management, production planning, inventory visibility and digital food safety compliance.

Working closely with site Catering Managers, Head Chefs, operational stakeholders and the project team, you will help standardise processes, drive operational consistency, improve compliance outcomes and support innovation across Civeo's catering operations. Regular travel to operational sites will be required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and rollout of the Kitchen Management System (KMS) across multiple operational sites.
  • Deliver training, coaching and change management initiatives to drive user adoption and build capability within catering teams.
  • Partner with Catering Managers and Head Chefs to standardise recipes, menus, production planning and operational processes.
  • Facilitate the transition from paper-based systems to streamlined digital workflows that improve efficiency, visibility and compliance.
  • Conduct operational reviews and audits to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, system optimisation and best-practice adoption.
  • Support inventory management, food safety compliance and production planning through effective utilisation of KMS tools.
  • Collaborate with site teams, operational leaders and project stakeholders to enhance food quality, customer satisfaction and business performance.
  • Promote culinary excellence and consistency across catering operations through training, stakeholder engagement and operational support.
  • Drive compliance with food safety, quality assurance and HACCP standards while supporting operational excellence initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher.
  • International qualifications recognised by an Australian Trade College will be considered.

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience as a Catering Manager, Head Chef or in a similar senior catering leadership position.
  • Experience working within large-scale catering, hospitality, village or remote-site operations.
  • Experience leading operational improvement, technology implementation or business transformation initiatives will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in workplace health and safety, food safety and HACCP compliance environments.
  • Experience training, coaching and developing hospitality teams.
  • Exposure to multi-site operations, service environments or asset-intensive industries will be highly regarded.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of large-scale catering operations, menu management and food production processes.
  • Sound knowledge of food safety, quality assurance and compliance frameworks, including HACCP.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and training skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across operational and technical teams.
  • Strong planning, organisational and project coordination skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new technology platforms.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational outcomes.
  • Ability to influence change, build capability and support teams through business transformation initiatives.
