The Culinary Assistant has the opportunity to positively affect the lives of people every day! This vital position plays a big role in our day-to-day operations by providing Quality Life for each and every resident.
Professional Qualifications: Culinary Assistants have the ability to understand and interpret either verbal or written directions. Culinary Assistants are able to read the labels on chemicals, cleaning solutions, cookbooks, etc. Culinary Assistants are able to understand the dangers that come with working with these products as well as the necessary equipment and supplies in the dietary department.
Physical Requirements: Culinary Assistants understand the physical demands their jobs require and realize they need to:
* lift, stir, push, pull and move food, equipment, supplies, etc.
* lift a maximum of fifty (50) pounds occasionally each work day.
* lift thirty (30) pounds consistently.
* be able to move and stretch in such a way as to be able to reach areas above their head and below their waist. * go up and down stairs.
* bend, stoop and twist almost constantly throughout the day.
* tolerate heat, steam, and food smells.
* use the typical kitchen utensils and machines.
* remain active and on their feet for up to four (4) hours at a time.
* able to get from one area to another while carrying dishes, supplies, etc.
* see and read well enough to read container labels, measuring equipment recipes, thermometers, etc.

This is a part time position. Required work hours 5:00pm to 8:30pm every other weekend. Work days would be every other weekend and every other holiday.
