Main purpose
We are seeking a hands-on business architect to lead the front to back functional architecture for our Metals, Minerals & Bulk CTRM system. You will be transforming complex, cross-department business initiatives into architectural roadmaps, ensuring alignment of IT solutions with business objectives in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
Transform business objectives into a functional architecture view that aligns IT and business teams
Lead strategic architectural decisions, including buy vs. build recommendations
Create actionable roadmaps balancing long-term vision with immediate needs
Proficient in managing cross functional complexity and facilitating complex trade-off decisions, such as balancing global process standards with local market needs
Support application teams throughout delivery, managing architectural alignment and accommodating change
Guide the evolution of Trafigura’s functional landscape and conceptual data models
Partner with technical leads to ensure our technical architecture supports business goals
Keep up with industry trends to drive innovation and process improvements
Lead and develop a team of architects, balancing their personal growth with business goals
Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence across the IT organisation
Required qualifications
10+ years of experience in a business analyst and/or architect role
3+ years of experience managing and developing people within a fast-paced, high-performance environment
Strong domain knowledge in commodity trading covering the end to end physical trade lifecycle
Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, frameworks, and modern practices like modular architecture and API-led integration
Proven success delivering large-scale applications in global teams
The ability to translate business goals into actionable technical plans, resolve complex conflicts, and make decisions that balance short-term needs with long-term vision
Ability to plan and execute work independently with a proactive approach
Comfortable working in a flat, matrix management structure
Fluent in English
