As a CT Technologist, you will produce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of various medical issues. Utilizing your advanced training and knowledge, you will accurately interpret scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare andoperatetheequipment,and position the patient to capture theappropriate images This role is critical in the overall treatment of our patients, making you an invaluable asset to the Cleveland Clinic system.
APRNcaregiver in this position worksvarying days and hours.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide computed tomography imaging and patient care services at defined levelstopatients of all ages.
Check andpreparepatients prior to CT study.
Acquirepatientschartdata/requisition and review both todeterminecorrect room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems and contraindications to the study.
Verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.
Assurepatient'ssafety and comfort during procedures.
Educate patientsregardingprocedure,equipmentandexamto ensure understanding and cooperation.
Prepare andadministercontrast media or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
Perform VNApuncturesas necessary.
Maintain all aspects of the CT area, including the technical and clerical components, to ensure proper quality assurance results and any required documentation.
Acquire, archive,transmitand print images via PACS.
Observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems toappropriate individuals
Maintain available equipmentup-timeat the highest level
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) in good standing
Computed Tomography (CT) Certification [R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)] within one year of hire
Current state licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificationthrough the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist
