Job Description
Akicita Federal is hiring a CT Technologist to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services for Veterans served by the VA New Jersey Health Care System at the Toms River Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Toms River, NJ. In this role, you will be the frontline imaging professional ensuring Veterans receive accurate, timely CT and diagnostic radiologic studies that directly support their clinical care. - Perform CT and diagnostic radiologic imaging examinations in accordance with established clinical protocols and VA standards of care.
- Operate and maintain CT scanning equipment, ensuring proper calibration, safety checks, and readiness for patient use.
- Position patients safely and accurately to obtain optimal diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Review imaging orders, assess patient condition and history, and adapt scanning technique as clinically appropriate.
- Document imaging procedures, patient interactions, and technical parameters accurately in the electronic health record system.
- Coordinate with radiologists, referring providers, and clinical staff to prioritize studies and communicate time-sensitive findings.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and infection-controlled imaging environment consistent with VA and Joint Commission standards.
What sets candidates apart:
- Prior experience working within a VA Medical Center or other federal healthcare facility environment.
- ARRT advanced certification specifically in Computed Tomography (CT).
- Familiarity with VA electronic health record systems such as VistA or the Oracle Health (Cerner) platform.
- Experience supporting a high-volume outpatient imaging setting with diverse patient populations, including older adults and patients with complex medical histories.
- Strong track record with no adverse malpractice history and verifiable professional references from most recent employer.
