CT Technologists at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) are at the forefront of advanced imaging, performing a wide range of complex exams that require both high-level technical expertise and the ability to respond to specialized clinical needs. From Cardiac CT to cutting-edge 3D Interventional procedures, our technologists are exposed to an exceptional breadth of cases that continually challenge and grow their skills.

We invite applications from new Radiology Technologist graduates, for whom we will provide training in the modality by experienced CT Technologists.

As New Hampshire’s only Level I Trauma Center, our team plays a critical role in delivering rapid, high-acuity imaging when it matters most. We are also proud to support a dedicated Stroke team, where technologists follow precise, time-sensitive protocols that directly impact patient outcomes.

With a dedicated 3D Lab and two CT Interventional Radiology suites, our department offers unique opportunities for technologists to further specialize and expand their expertise within CT. At DHMC, you’ll practice at the top of your license alongside a highly skilled, supportive team that is deeply committed to delivering outstanding, high-acuity patient care.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position working 4 10-hour shifts as scheduled Monday through Friday with rotating holidays and weekends as needed.

For our full-time positions (30+ hours), we are offering a $20,000 sign-on/retention bonus. The bonus is available only to external hires, and certain conditions apply.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Computed Tomography procedures. Reviews medical record for patient history and pertinent information. Reviews requisition with the physician. Administers contrast material, according to the physician's request, by means of an existing IV line or by performing venipuncture and placing an IV line; recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reaction.
  • Determines the most suitable patient position for optimum imaging, protocol, and patient comfort. Uses all equipment properly and in a manner that minimizes hazards of electric shock, burns, and extraneous radiation to patients. Follows ALARA principles. Evaluates images and sends them to PACS. Reviews data on the scanner and in PACS. Performs multi-plane reconstruction, reformats, and 3D according to protocol.
  • Reviews studies for overall quality. Identifies and highlights any unexpected findings not included in the initial exam request and promptly notifies the radiologist.
  • Organizes daily work schedule and responds to emergencies as they occur.
  • Performs daily calibration check on equipment; cleans and performs minor maintenance procedures. Logs problems and usage; alerts Team Leader as appropriate. Orders and maintains supplies.
  • Instructs medical staff and technologists in the unit's operations, as necessary.
  • Participates in continuing education. Trains with the IV team prior to performing venous punctures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned
  • Qualifications

    • Must have graduated from an ARRT-verified educational program with 1 year of experience preferred.

    Required Licensure/Certifications

    • Registered with the ARRT Radiologic Technologist - Radiography (RT - R) .
    • Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire.
    • BLS required at hire.
