As aCT Technologist, you willproduce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis ofvariousmedical issues.Utilizing your advanced training and knowledge, you willaccurately interpret scanning instructions, administer contrast materials,prepareandoperatetheequipmentand position the patient to capture theappropriate imagesThis role is critical in the overall treatment of our patients, making you an invaluable asset to the Cleveland Clinic system.
A caregiver in this position works days, from 9:00am—5:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide computed tomography imaging and patient care services at defined levelsforpatients of all ages.
Check and prepare patients prior to CT study.
Acquirepatientschartdata/requisition and review both todeterminecorrect room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems and contraindications to the study.
Verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.
Assurepatient'ssafety and comfort during procedures.
Educate patientsregardingprocedures,equipmentand exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
Prepare and administer contrast media or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
Perform VNApuncturesas necessary.
Maintain all aspects of the CT area, including the technical and clerical components, to ensure proper quality assurance results and any required documentation.
Acquire, archive,transmitand print images via PACS.
Observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems toappropriate individuals
Maintain available equipmentup-to-timeat the highest level.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accreditedSchool of Radiologic Technology
Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists[R.T.(R) (ARRT)]in good standing
Certification in Computed Tomography[R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)]within one year of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS)Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
Current state licensurerequiredprior to employment.
Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist
Physical Requirements:
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
