Shriners Children's Chicago is seeking a CT Technologist to join the Shriners Radiology team! PRN or part-time may be available.

Shriners Children’s Chicago offers specialized care for a wide range of pediatric orthopedic, bone and joint conditions, including rare diseases and syndromes. Other specialties include spine and scoliosis care, plastic surgery, cleft lip and palate care, comprehensive rehabilitation and spinal cord injuries.

The pay range for this position is $35.71/hourly to $53.57/hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.

Responsibilities

    • Assesses orders for accuracy and clarifies with provider prior to imaging, if necessary (correct patient, correct CPT code, correct body part, correct side, correct views)
    • Responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring that a quality CT image is produced
    • Ensures equipment is properly functioning and reports any potential problems or malfunctions to the appropriate contact(s)
    • Works closely with radiologists and physicians who interpret images to either diagnose or rule out disease or injury
    • Responsible for communication and documentation of patient studies
    • Practices appropriate radiation safety as designated in Federal and State Radiation Control Regulations. Practices A.L.A.R.A at all times.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's degree from an accredited program is required
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification required in x-ray and CT
  • Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) radiologic tech licensure must be kept current and maintained
  • Must be Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by the American Heart Association
  • One year of CT experience strongly preferred
  • Additional modality (MRI or X-Ray) strongly preferred, with accreditation from Illinois Emergency Management Agency and ARRT
  • One year pediatric and/or orthopedic radiology experience preferred
