PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Collects pertinent medical information and reviews physician’s order to identifyreason for examination and potential contraindications.2. Explains procedure to patient and ensures consent form is signed if required forexamination.3. Positions patient and administers oral, rectal or intravenous contrast asrequired. Monitors patient reaction and responds to adverse reactions withemergency procedures as necessary.4. Selects equipment parameters and logs pertinent information.5. Performs scanning procedure. Modifies parameters as required to improvevisualization of desired anatomy. 6. Perform POC iSTAT testing and screen for contrast contraindications.7. Organizes images, performs the scan and transfers exam to PACS system.8. Enters patient charges into computer.9. Performs minor maintenance and repairs on Computerized Tomography (CT)equipment. Refers other problems to the department Supervisor.10. Assists in orienting and training personnel as necessary.11. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmentalpolicies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electricalequipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitorinjury-accident to Manager.
