The CT Technologist Lead serves as the first line supervisor of CT department. This individual ensures daily operations of the area is performed in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner in the absence of the Supervisor. The CT Technologist Lead provides technical guidance to staff technologist and is directly responsible for the overall quantity and quality of procedures that are being performed in the CT department. Provides clinical services and oversite according to CT practice standards to ensure optimal department functions: Demonstrates appropriate skills and knowledge in use of all CT equipment and performance of all protocols and procedures.

Day to Day

GENERAL DUTIES

Quality:
  • Demonstrates a satisfactory working knowledge of CT procedures and equipment operations. If needed, reviews exams with the Radiologists as to important anatomic detail and areas of abnormalities. Ensures the quality of images submitted are acceptable.
Service:
  • Assists in the daily facilitation of the diagnostic area. Performs and reviews exams as required to assure the efficient delivery of services. Ensures adequate staffing is available to provide quality, timely services. Maintains quality by providing feedback to subordinates while distributing work as expediently as possible. Maintains inventory of supplies and orders as needed.
Safety:
  • Performs daily equipment checks, troubleshoots equipment, and documents any equipment downtime, performs quality control checks routinely on all imaging for their respective shift and subordinates. Ensures a safe environment is kept for all employees and patients. Actively participates in departmental safety by completing departmental surveys as directed by the department safety coordinator. Initiates documentation regarding subordinates that are not following hospital policy, compliance, rules, and regulations and reports any offense to the supervisor, manager, and/or director (dependent upon organizational structure). Participates in employee evaluations and reviews if requested by departmental administration.
Quality/Service:
  • Directly interacts with other hospital employees, patients, and physicians to answer any question they may have regarding CT services. Provides additional coverage for services on weekends and holidays, as directed by the departmental manager or director and other duties as assigned. Completes ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations. Consistently and accurately documents required patient information in PACS. Performs other routine clerical duties as assigned. Inputs and verifies all data in PACS/RIS.
Must Haves

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

Appropriate combination of education and work experience is required:

  • Associates Degree from an accredited institution or 2-year certification program in Radiologic Technology (including training from United States Armed Forces) and 3 (three) years of CT technology experience as well as
    1 (one) year of experience performing or participating in supervisor/management functions.
  • CHNOLA LOCATION ONLY- required: 3-years’ experience in modality; preferred: 5 years experience in modality
