Job Description

Overview

In compliance with established policies and procedures, the CSR performs a variety of high-quality customer service functions. The position is responsible for providing financial institution products and services to customers to fulfill their financial needs. Some daily functions include answering questions about United’s products and services, actively selling products and services in a courteous and professional manner, and representing the bank in a positive way at all times.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide exceptional service to meet customers and prospective customer’s banking needs
  • Support existing customer relationships and maintain class-leading customer service relations
  • Provide account guidance including suggestions and other necessary information
  • Provide customers with account information and updates; answer policy questions accurately
  • Ensure all accounts are opened in accordance with established policies and procedures, records are maintained accurately, and accounts are entered on the bank’s computer system
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all banking products and services
  • Actively sell products and services based on United’s needs-based approach
  • Utilize tact and professionalism to resolve customer complaints
  • Open and maintain deposit accounts such as Individual Retirement Accounts and Certificates of Deposit
  • May be responsible for ordering job-related supplies
  • Answer customer inquiries
  • Assist other staff in serving customers, answering telephones and performing other duties as necessary
  • Fill out disputes and perform research on debit cards as well as order and hot card debit cards
  • Perform some file maintenance

Requirements For Success

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of in-house training program
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to relate to and empathize with others
  • Good oral and written communication skills, as well as good selling skills
  • Experience in sales preferred
  • Ability to maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor throughout the workday
  • Ability to operate bank software programs
  • Operation of standard office equipment
  • Proficient keyboarding skills
  • Thorough knowledge of financial institution products and services
  • This position may require back-up to various retail banking roles
  • Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.

Conditions of Employment

Must be able to pass a criminal background & credit check.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no direct reports.

POSITION TYPE

This is a full-time position that requires schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

TRAVEL

This position requires up to 10% travel.

Pay Range

USD $18.56 - USD $20.52 /Hr.
