THE ROLE
As a Part-Time In-Home Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will facilitate individuals with disabilities and seniors to live with independence and dignity in the community by going into their homes and providing support. Studies show that those who live at home and retain their independence are happier, healthier, and tend to live longer. Your job would be to support and serve individuals at their homes!
SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION
- $16.35/hr with a $1.50/hr shift differential for weekend shifts
- Part-Time - 10-29 hours/week
- Flexible Scheduling; Weekend and evening availability required
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and many other tasks
- Provide companionship and socialization as you support your clients in visiting with friends, attending events, working on hobbies, or even just enjoying a cup of coffee together.
- Assist with taking participants to appointments, grocery stores, etc.
- Encourage an active lifestyle through activities such as walks around the community.
- You help them stay healthy in all areas by making sure that they are mentally stimulated, socially connected, physically active, and well-nourished, encouraging their independence as much as possible.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- At least 18 years of age
- Negative TB skin test (provided by Aptiv)
- Ability to pass a caregiver background test
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record
- Reliable transportation with valid registration and up-to-date auto insurance
