Job Description

The Customer Sales Executive (CSE) – Away From Home is responsible for leading and growing The Hershey Company’s strategic partnership with Compass Group and its affiliated operating companies, including Canteen, Foodbuy, and franchise partners. This role owns the end-to-end commercial relationship, including sales growth, trade investment, forecasting discipline, promotional execution, and cross-functional coordination to deliver profitable, sustainable growth.

The role requires strong customer leadership, financial rigor, and the ability to manage complex trade and payment structures across multiple distributors and channels. The CSE serves as the primary enterprise voice for Compass within Hershey and ensures alignment across Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Category, and Marketing.

Accountabilities

Strategic Account Leadership & Sales Growth (45%)

  • Own the annual sales plan for Compass Group across Corporate, Franchise, and Foodbuy businesses.
  • Develop, sell-in, and execute customer-specific programs driving profitable net sales growth.
  • Lead joint business planning, promotional calendars, and innovation prioritization.
  • Build senior-level relationships across Compass and Foodbuy.

Trade Investment & Financial Stewardship (25%)

  • Own one of the company’s highest trade investment accounts with strict financial discipline.
  • Ensure accurate execution of foodservice, C-store, and vending payment processes.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure compliance, documentation, and audit readiness.

Forecasting, Supply Alignment & Execution (20%)

  • Own forecasting cadence and accuracy with customers and internal partners.
  • Proactively manage forecast changes tied to promotions and assortment shifts.
  • Mitigate supply risk through disciplined forecast management.

Cross-Functional & Broker Leadership (10%)

  • Lead broker teams and internal cross-functional partners.
  • Serve as the internal Compass subject-matter expert.

Dimensions

  • National account responsibility with high customer complexity
  • Significant trade investment with multi-channel routing
  • Approximately 40–55% travel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7+ years of sales or commercial experience in CPG, preferably in AFH or Small Format
  • Proven ability to manage complex national accounts
  • Strong financial acumen and trade management experience
  • Executive-level communication and relationship-building skills
