CS&A Responsible Engineer (RE) πŸ—οΈ

The RE holds full technical accountability for Civils, Structural & Architectural (CS&A) engineering within their area, ensuring all work is safe, compliant, and fit for purpose across the project lifecycle πŸ”.

Working to R2A2 (ED21), you’ll provide technical leadership, governance, and assurance, while retaining responsibility for key engineering decisionsβ€”even when delegated πŸ‘·β€β™‚οΈ.

Key Responsibilities & Experience:

  • Strong CS&A background in regulated, safety-critical environments ⚠️
  • Proven technical accountability & decision-making experience βœ…
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and safety requirements πŸ“œ
  • Establish governance, assurance & verification processes 🧩
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams & resolve complex technical issues 🀝
  • Interface with project teams, regulators & assurance bodies 🏒
  • Promote a strong safety, quality & compliance culture πŸ›‘οΈ

Desirable Experience:

  • Planning, site master planning & council engagement πŸ—ΊοΈ
  • Contaminated land, utilities & ground investigations 🌍
  • Seismic & heavy industrial/plant room design 🌐
  • Nuclear or high-hazard environments ☒️
  • Safety case development & regulatory engagement πŸ“Š
  • Full lifecycle delivery: concept β†’ commissioning πŸ”„
  • Managing deviations, non-conformances & improvements πŸ“ˆ

Requirements:

  • Familiar with engineering governance & gated processes βš™οΈ
  • SQEP aligned with SR0698 & ED21 standards 🎯

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications πŸŽ“

  • Degree (or equivalent) in CS&A or related engineering discipline
  • Extensive CS&A experience suitable for a Responsible Engineer role πŸ—οΈ
  • Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) with a recognised institution πŸ‘¨β€πŸ”§
  • Able to meet security clearance & site access requirements πŸ”

Desirable Qualifications ⭐

  • Fellowship or senior membership of a professional institution πŸ…
  • Training in nuclear safety, functional safety, or systems engineering ☒️
  • Postgraduate qualification in engineering or management πŸ“˜
