Purpose of the Position:

As a Pulling Crystal Growth Technician, you will be responsible for operating equipment to produce high-quality ingots, which are used as raw material for solar manufacturing. Your role involves executing the ingot pulling process, monitoring equipment performance, ensuring product quality, and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for Crystal Growth by providing immediate troubleshooting of out of control processes.
• Record production data, process parameters, quality inspection results, and equipment performance metrics accurately in production logs, batch records, and electronic databases.
• Generate reports, production summaries, and performance metrics to track production performance, identify trends, and support decision-making.
• Monitor numerous pieces of equipment for out of control performance and make adjustments to get process back into control.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, abnormalities, or maintenance needs to supervisors or maintenance personnel for further inspection and repair.
• Prepare the ingot pulling equipment, including the crystal growth furnace, pulling mechanism, and associated controls, for the ingot production process.
• Verify equipment readiness, perform pre-operation checks, and ensure proper alignment and calibration of equipment components.
• Monitor and adjust key process parameters to control crystal growth and ensure optimal ingot formation.
• Conduct visual inspections and quality checks of ingots during the pulling process to detect defects, impurities, and irregularities.
• Use measurement tools and equipment to verify dimensional accuracy, crystal orientation, and other critical parameters of the ingots.
• Identify and address quality issues or deviations from specifications, including adjusting process parameters or initiating corrective actions as necessary.
• Follow safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Comply with regulatory requirements, environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations, and company policies related to equipment operation and material handling.
• Participate in training for new crystal growth operators and technicians as needed

Work Hours:

• Rotating 2-3-2 swing shift schedule
• Managing a 24/7 plant structure, so occasional support when needed.  
• On-Call responsibilities

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3+ years of working experience in a manufacturing environment or crystal growth pulling experience.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to work with precision and accuracy in a controlled environment.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders.

Required Skills:

• Strong technical aptitude and hands-on experience with manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Capable of navigating HMIs and Computer Based interfaces to troubleshoot equipment issues and process performance issues.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and best practices in manufacturing operations, with a strong commitment to workplace safety and quality excellence.
• Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing production demands in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to improve production efficiency and quality.

The range for this position is ​$34.25 hourly rate - $35.25 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
