AIM is currently seeking a Crusher Operator for its Laval site, working Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Reporting to the Automotive Crushing Department Manager, the incumbent is responsible for traveling to various worksites to carry out vehicle carcass crushing activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all handling required for preparing the vehicle carcasses;
  • Operate and maneuver a loader;
  • Operate the crusher to compact and crush vehicles;
  • Load crushed vehicles onto trucks;
  • Maintain accurate records;
  • Complete the daily activity report;
  • Work safely and comply with the company’s health and safety policies and procedures;
  • Comply with the Highway Safety Code;
  • Ensure proper use and functioning of company equipment;
  • Perform pre‑use inspections of all equipment;
  • Monitor machinery to ensure proper operation;
  • Perform any other related duties.

Qualifications

To join our team, you must:

  • Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license;
  • Have a vocational diploma in heavy equipment operation (an asset);
  • Have at least one year of experience operating heavy machinery;
  • Hold a Class 1 driver’s license (an asset);
  • Have a solid understanding of the Highway Safety Code;
  • Be autonomous and resourceful;
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills;
  • Be responsible and courteous;
  • Maintain vigilance and be able to effectively assess your surroundings;
  • Possess strong customer service skills.

Additional Information

Work Environment:

  • Frequent travel to various sites (100% on the road);
  • May occasionally be required to stay overnight away from home.
  • Work performed mainly outdoors, with possible exposure to hot or cold temperatures;
  • Noisy work environment;
  • Physically demanding tasks.
