Cruise Whitsundays, based in Airlie Beach is the largest marine-based tour and transport provider in the Whitsundays. About The Role

The Cruise Director will focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences while ensuring high standards of service and professionalism. The Cruise Director will manage the Cruise Attendants to ensure they maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming environment for our guests. With strong leadership skills and a commitment to excellent customer service this role will contribute to our ongoing success in providing unforgettable experiences.

Key responsibilities include but not limited:

  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences through outstanding customer service and consistent high performance.
  • Manage and oversee Cruise Attendants, ensuring professionalism and optimal service delivery.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints promptly to uphold a positive experience on board.
  • Handle daily ticketing procedures, managing manifests, headcount responsibilities, document processing, sales, and reconciliation of onboard tills.
  • Maintain high standards of food and beverage knowledge, ensure compliance with Food Safety regulations, manage stock control, and oversee daily reconciliation of products.

About You

We are seeking a reliable and self-motivated individual to join our Marine team full-time as a Cruise Director. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the marine and tourism environment. As Cruise Director you will possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to interact effectively with both guests and team members. Your proactive approach and adaptability will make you a perfect fit for our dynamic work environment.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Sound knowledge of the marine and tourism industry which will enhance our guest experiences.
  • High level of attention to detail to ensure that standards and expectations are consistently met.
  • A proactive nature allowing you to identify areas for improvement and take initiative in enhancing service delivery.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment

Requirements

  • Certificate and/or Diploma in Hospitality/Tourism or comparable supervisory experience
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (mandatory)
  • HLTAID015 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Advanced Oxygen Resuscitation (mandatory)
  • QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol (mandatory)
  • QLD Working with Children’s Check (Blue Card) (mandatory)
  • SITSS0016 – Food Handling Supervisor
  • Elements of Shipboard Safety Skillset
