As the Cross-Border E-Commerce Associate Manager, you will take ownership of Rakuten Ichiba Japan’s “Taiwan Direct,” shaping it into the top destination for Japanese consumers seeking high-quality Taiwanese products. This role combines cross‑border e-commerce operations, Taiwan brand incubation, product commercialization, and Japan market strategyrequiring both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

You will play a key role in accelerating the success of Taiwanese brands in Japan, optimizing operational performance, and strengthening the “Taiwan Good Products” brand identity within Rakuten Ichiba Japan.

Responsibilities:

End-to-End Operations & Growth of Taiwan Direct

    • Plan annual business strategies and GMS/Revenue growth plans

    • Set and achieve key operational metrics (sales, gross profit, growth rate, etc.)

    • Optimize conversion rate, average order value, and repurchase rate, and overall customer experience

Taiwan Brand Acquisition & Incubation

    • Identify high‑potential Taiwanese brands and trending products opportunities

    • Lead partnership negotiations and support product onboarding into the Japan market

    • Provide operational guidance to help brands scale and transition into independent Rakuten Japan stores

Product Development & Japan Market Planning

    • Analyze Japan market trends, consumer needs, and category insights

    • Plan hero products and thematic campaigns (seasonal, festive, or trend‑driven) for the Taiwan Direct

    • Strengthen and promote the “Taiwan Good Products” brand positioning

Rakuten Ichiba Japan Platform Operations Management

    • Be familiar with Rakuten Ichiba Japan rules and tools (campaigns, ads, SEO, review management)

    • Manage product listings, page optimization, and promotional strategies

    • Communicate and collaborate regularly with Rakuten Ichiba Japan platform stakeholders

Cross‑Border Logistics & Operations Coordination

    • Coordinate with logistics teams and internal/external partners

    • Manage cross‑border costs, delivery performance, and regulatory compliance.

    • Ensure a smooth and consistent customer experience.


Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Japanese and Mandarin (frequent communication with teams in Japan and Taiwan). Fluency in English is a plus.

  • 3+ years of experience in e-commerce or cross-border e-commerce

  • Practical experience in market operations, preferably related to the Japan market

  • Strong data analysis skills, including interpreting metrics such as conversion rate, ROI, and other performance indicators.

  • Demonstrates an owner mindset, with strong accountability for business outcomes.


Good to have:

  • Experience operating stores on Rakuten Ichiba Japan

  • Proven success in leading brands into the Japan market

  • Experience in brand operations, merchandising, or product planning.

  • Familiarity with any of the following categories:

  • Food & Beverages

  • Daily Essentials

  • Consumer Electronics (3C)
