Job Description

The cross team data management specialist is responsible for the creation and maintenance of multi-level bills of materials (BOMs), along with Catalog rule writing and Catalog projects. This position will start primarily on the Catalog side and start transitioning more into the “cross team” role sometime next year. They will also work collaboratively with other departments such as engineering, manufacturing, finance, and purchasing to ensure BOMs, customer data template and order entry software are up-to-date and accurate at all times.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage in creation of BOMs in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system by working with cross-functional team members from engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing.

  • Work with cross-functional team to ensure BOM has correct structure, components, and quantities in the ERP system.

  • Conduct maintenance of BOM as required by spec changes and/or Special Product Request (SPR) approval.

  • Complete periodic BOM audits to ensure integrity and accuracy.

  • Facilitate and support the implementation of Product Change Requests (PCRs) with all required steps to support a well-planned and organized process.

  • Aid in creation of part numbers for purchased and manufactured components.

  • Work closely with engineering and manufacturing to understand product specification books, routings, work content, and production line layouts to best support system interface with production employees.

  • Perform other job-related duties as necessary to fulfill responsibilities of position

  • This position will also work with the Catalog team on top of BOM/Backend ERP responsibilities to be able to support both ends of the system.

  • Work with catalog Q&A, pricing or any other Omni issues that may arise.

  • Work catalog tickets, projects and any other initiatives to support the order entry software and catalog team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Must be detailed, accurate, organized, and able to determine and meet deadlines.

  • Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively.

  • Ability to work in a continually changing environment with the ability to change direction quickly.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Must have solid understanding of Weather Shield’s products.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2+ years of experience in or supporting manufacturing operations. Experience in window and door industry is preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Microsoft Office Proficiency. Moderate level proficiency in Excel is preferred.

Experience with following programs is preferred, but not required JDE, Omni, AS-400, EMS

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, keyboards, or keypads. The employee is frequently required to talk, hear, and to reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move boxes or products of 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this include close vision.
